Privacy policy

This site exists to tell people what the internet can see about them. A privacy policy full of hedging would undercut the point, so this one is written plainly and describes what actually happens in the code.

The short version. No accounts, no cookies, no advertising, no analytics that identify you, and no database of visitors. Your test results are stored in your own browser and never sent to us. We do not sell or share anything, because we do not have anything to sell or share.

What stays on your device

The VPN check stores your baseline measurement and your recent results in your browser's local storage. That data never leaves your computer or phone, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data, or using the tool's own "Clear history" and "Start over" buttons, removes it permanently.

What leaves your device, and why

Your IP address, to your browser only. To tell you which city and network operator a site would see, our host reads that information from the connection itself and returns it to you. No third-party lookup service is involved, and your address is not written to any log or database of our own.
Speed test traffic, to Cloudflare. Speed is measured using Cloudflare's open-source engine against their nearest server, because measuring a connection requires a server near you. Those requests necessarily reach Cloudflare and are subject to their privacy practices. We have configured the engine so your results are not submitted to Cloudflare's aggregated statistics.
Ordinary web requests to our host. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, their infrastructure processes the requests needed to deliver pages, which can include standard server-level records. We do not add our own logging on top of that, and we do not have a visitor database.

Leak tests run entirely in your browser

The WebRTC check, the IPv6 check, the timezone comparison and the fingerprint readings all execute locally in JavaScript. Their results are displayed to you and stored on your device. They are never transmitted to us.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or social tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google's servers.

Children

These tools are not directed at children and collect no personal information from anyone, including children.
